Stars Rain (Poem)
Where were you when the stars rained? What hue was your heart, when the sky was in pain? Did your escapism, into the night sky seem the same? Did the wine and alcohol sing your name? Where were you when the stars rained? Did it startle you, when physics shattered in front of your face? The Sun, Polaris, Sirius, and Luhman too, they all broke their celestial promises, by raining their sorrows on you. Where were you, when the stars rained? Why did the universe suddenly change? What we knew and trusted in, seemed so secure, but even now our world shifted and stirred. Where's your solid ground, when the the sky breaks it's beautiful blue frame? How do you look up, when the ground beneath you can't hold your weight? How does the psyche, strong and fragile, at the same time, handle it all? Wheres the stability, when your reality all comes to a fall?
One place.
One place only.
One name.
One name only.
Jesus.
My Savior, my King.
The only constant, the common thread, in the middle of everything.
Let the stars rain, let the Sun fade. Let the mountains shake with terrible rage. All of this is fine...all of this I can endure.
Because the God who made the universe, more than anything, loves me more.
